April 2026 Carnival
Panorama

To celebrate our 45th wedding anniversary, Kellyn and I did a 6-day cruise on a ship we fondly refer to as "Old Faithful"... because this was the 4th time we've sailed on this particular ship, and we can always count on it to reliably provide good food, entertainment, and comfortable spaces for relaxing.
We had a nice surprise when we boarded the ship and went to drop off our carry-ons in our cabin. Our travel agent knew that we were celebrating our anniversary, and she arranged to have these decorations set up for us.

The atrium of Carnival Panorama has a very unusual look, thanks to this artistic vortex that climbs from atrium bar all the way up to the ceiling three floors above:

A still picture doesn't fully capture how cool it is, though.
Here's a video of it to give you the full effect:
I'm working on a more extensive YouTube video about Carnival Panorama, and will post it here as soon as I've completed it. In the mean time, I think you'd enjoy this video that I made when we sailed on Carnival Panorama in 2025. It explains why we pay a little extra to be in a particular type of cabin that gives us access to a very special part of the ship that most passengers don't have access to. Here's the video:

Something unusual happened on our cruise. A big window got broken, I don't
know how.

This was on Lido deck, near the pizza place. I hope someone's elbow didn't do that!
I was surprised that the
swimming pool nearest to our cabin didn't have any water in it on the day we
boarded the ship.
Thankfully, it was full of water and ready for use the next morning.

This was the 73rd cruise I've been on since I started cruising back in 1996. Unfortunately, this one will be remembered as one of my least favorite of all those cruises. The reason is because I'm experiencing a whole lot of pain and stiffness due to a spinal issue. I had surgery for it last August, and the surgery was not successful in making me feel better. In fact, I feel worse than I did before the surgery. I was hoping that the cruise would be a welcome distraction from the pain... but in reality, being in all that pain just made it very difficult to enjoy the cruise.
Need A Travel Agent?
Booking a cruise can be confusing, especially if you haven't been on many cruises before. There are lots of first-time cruiser mistakes that a travel agent can keep you from making.
If you're interested in booking a cruise with any cruise line... please feel free to use the services of my travel agent, Caitlin Gallagher. She's extremely pleasant to deal with, easy to talk to since she lives in the United States and speaks without any kind of an accent, and quite experienced and knowledgeable about different types of cruising. Caitlin is the owner of Ambren Travel. Visit her web site, check out the Ambren Travel Facebook page, or contact her using the information below.
